Angela L. Hayes
Chief of Staff to the Vice President for Advancement
Hayes has served as chief of staff to the vice president since 2004. She is a member of the division's senior leadership team. She is responsible for managing the operations of the vice president’s office and supporting the key administrative responsibilities of the vice president’s roles as a member of the president’s cabinet and executive vice president of the Virginia Tech Foundation, Inc.
She previously served as the assistant director for accounting operations at the University of Virginia, and as the director of gift accounting at Virginia Tech prior to her role as chief of staff.
Hayes' academic background includes a bachelor of business administration in accounting from the College of William & Mary and a master of arts in education in educational leadership and policy studies from Virginia Tech with a concentration in higher education administration. She is also a graduate of Virginia Tech’s Executive Development Institute and has been recognized as a fellow in the university’s Academy for Leadership Excellence.
