Class Programs are supervised by the Alumni Association and consist of activities associated with the class ring, a Virginia Tech tradition dating back to the Class of 1911.

Each year, a specially appointed student Ring Design Committee creates a ring unique to each Class. Since 1934, the annual Ring Dance Weekend has been the grand event on campus. Juniors now select which night they will attend, either Friday or Saturday. The Corps of Cadets Ring Figure, an early Ring Dance tradition still in practice, is done on Friday night. Each night has beautiful decorations and lighting, a live band music along with a DJ, and the traditional balloon drop.

The festivities culminate with the playing of 'Silver Taps,' and the firing of the Skipper Cannon on Friday evening and the display of fireworks on the Drillfield on Saturday at midnight.
