The Alumni Weekend 2024 schedule outline is below. More details will be added.

Registration includes access to all scheduled events, including tours and sessions, plus meals, happy hours, and drinks! When you sign up, the weekend is all inclusive. We’ll handle the fun, food, and more.

Attire for the weekend is Hokie Casual.

Getting to town early? Join us Wednesday, June 5 from 6-8 p.m. for an Alumni Weekend Welcome Desserts and Coffee Social (Holtzman Alumni Center).

Thursday, June 6

  • 8:30-10 a.m. Cornerstone and 50th breakfast with colleges (Squires, Commonwealth Ballroom)
  • 10:15-11 a.m. Speaker Sessions
    • Next 10 Years of Virginia Tech's Carilion School of Medicine
  • 11:15 a.m.-noon. Speaker Session and Tour
    • Corps of Cadets Upper Quad Tour   
    • Bridging human experience and technology innovation with AI
  • 12:30-1:45 p.m. Cornerstone and 50th lunch with General Fullhart (Squires, Commonwealth Ballroom)
  • 2-4 p.m. The Market of Virginia Tech food security presentation and interactive service project (capacity limited)
  • 2-4 p.m. Virginia Center for Civil War Studies - Traveling Civil War Trunk (Squires)
  • 2-4 p.m. Additional tours, sessions, and experiences (TBD)
  • 6-10 p.m. Cornerstone Alumni and 50th Reunion Induction Banquet, semi-formal attire (Squires, Commonwealth Ballroom)

  • 2-3:30 p.m. Campus tour including a model room in Vawter Hall. (Meet admissions team at Holtzman Alumni Center; end at the Creativity and Innovation District)
  • 3:45-4:45 p.m. Admissions information session and student panel (Creativity and Innovation District)
  • 5-6 p.m. Conversations with Colleges (Creativity and Innovation District)
    • College of Engineering, College of Liberal Arts and Human Sciences, Pamplin College of Business, College of Science, College of Agriculture and Life Sciences, College of Natural Resources and Environment
  • 2-4 p.m. Kickin’ up dust with Baja SAE (parking available at Blacksburg High School, shuttle van will transport attendees to the Baja track from Blacksburg High School)
  • 2-4 p.m. Virginia Center for Civil War Studies - Traveling Civil War Trunk open house (Squires)
  • 2-5 p.m. Visit a model residence hall room (Vawter Hall)

  • 8 a.m.-3 p.m.: Hokie Hub. No need to use vacation days to attend Alumni Weekend! We all know that Blacksburg is home, so come to town early and log some "work from home" hours in the Holtzman Alumni Center. Snacks, drinks, and Hokie swag provided!

  • 6-8 p.m. Class of 1974 50th Reunion Celebration

  • 8 p.m.-midnight. Downtown Takeover. Enjoy some of Blacksburg's hit watering holes with included appetizers.

Saturday, June 8

  • 9-9:30 a.m. Class of 1974 and Cornerstone Alumni Remembrance Service (War Memorial Chapel)
  • 9-9:30 a.m. Informal remembrance opportunity for all alumni (April 16 Memorial, Drillfield)
  • 9:30-10:45 a.m. Coffee and Culture. Continental breakfast with opportunity to visit our Cultural and Community Centers and engage with staff and students who have found a sense of community and belonging in these spaces. (Squires)
  • 10-10:45 a.m. Upper Quad Tour with the Corps of Cadets (Lane Hall)
