Join fellow young alumni at The Vintage Whiskey and Cigar Bar of Charlotte to learn valuable tips and tricks for purchasing your first home from real estate expert and Virginia Tech alumni Jay Barr ’07. Go from browsing to buying by discovering:
- Realistic home prices for you
- Loan types and interest rates
- Pros/cons of fixer uppers and new builds
- Zillow myths
The presentation will begin at 6:15 p.m., followed by a Q&A and networking. Registration is free but required and includes food, drinks, and Hokie swag.
About the speaker
JAY BARR
Realtor, Ivy and Trellis
Barr, originally from Charlotte, North Carolina, graduated with a bachelor's degree in civil engineering from Virginia Tech in 2007. While working for an engineering company, he discovered a passion for helping people find their dream homes. He has been a licensed real estate agent in both North Carolina and South Carolina since 2009. Jay and his wife, also a Hokie grad, are currently raising their three future Hokies in Waxhaw, North Carolina.
