Tech on Tap: Transportation Safety

Explore transportation safety and learn how the Virginia Tech Transportation Institute's (VTTI) research is helping to solve the world’s most pressing transportation problems. Speakers will include:
- Andy Schaudt, the institute's chief of staff and assistant professor of practice in the Department of Management in the Pamplin College of Business, who will focus on pedestrian and cyclist safety.
- Charlie Klauer, research scientist and leader of the Training Systems Group in the Division of Vehicle, Driver, and System Safety and associate professor in the Department of Industrial and Systems Engineering in the College of Engineering, who specializes in distracted driving.
- Susan Soccolich, senior research associate in the Division of Freight, Transit, and Heavy Vehicle Safety, who works with the Share the Road program instructing high school driver’s education classes how to drive safely around big trucks.
