Get involved

Volunteers play a critical role in making our Reunion Weekend a success. As volunteers, you can give input on reunion programming and get advance details about what’s being planned. We need your help!

We count on volunteers to serve as ambassadors for the event by contacting classmates and encouraging them to attend.

Learn more about how to join a class committee below. If you have additional questions, don’t hesitate to contact the Reunion Programs Team at reunion@vt.edu.

Reunion volunteers are critical to the success of a class reunion! As a volunteer we need you to help inform and encourage your classmates to attend and connect. We also want your input on the reunion program and to help explore opportunities to make it a truly special event!

Reunion volunteers are truly alumni ambassadors!

Reunion Committees meet about once per month starting in November–June before the reunion. These hour-long meetings allow committee members to connect, discuss progress, offer suggestions, and collaborate. Your level of involvement depends on your schedule and leveraging your Hokie social networks is helpful!

During the reunion in June, come to campus and have fun! We do not ask for volunteers to manage registration tables, take out trash, guide traffic, or any other logistical needs… just be ready to reconnect with classmates. However, if you are interested in getting involved with day-of logistics, let us know!

In addition to using your own social networks and connections, we offer a volunteer roster to help reach out to classmates. Classes have individual Facebook groups that can be used by volunteers to help keep classmates connected and updated about the reunion. As an engagement office, we will be advertising and promoting the reunion through email, social media, and printed materials which can be used to aid in your organization efforts.

Making a philanthropic gift to Virginia Tech is important to the continued success and advancement of the university. We ask that all reunion volunteers make a personally meaningful gift in honor of your milestone reunion to support your class giving goals.

Reunion class committees are made up by those alumni celebrating an anniversary. Any alumni celebrating a milestone reunion (5th-50th) and are passionate about bringing classmates and friends together for a weekend of fun in Blacksburg are encouraged to join a reunion committee. If you are an active alumni or were an involved student and you are celebrating an upcoming class milestone anniversary, please reach out to us if you are interested in getting involved!

We’re excited about your interest in Reunion Weekend. We don’t have volunteer committees for alumni not celebrating this year, however plan to attend so you can experience the weekend with friends. We’ll reach out to you when your anniversary comes up, so be sure to stay in touch with us to learn how to get involved later!
