Two of our distinguished and accomplished alumni, Edward Baine and Michael Goode gathered to discuss professional development and offer real talk on success as Black men.

Influential Black Alumni Awards Ceremony

We celebrated the successes of Virginia Tech’s outstanding Black and African American alumni and community members during the awards ceremony. These Hokies are leading the way in their fields and communities.

Four of our distinguished and accomplished alumnae gathered to discuss the professional and personal challenges and strengths of Black women. 


Class of 2023 ring namesake and sponsor named at BAR.

Irving L. Peddrew III ’57, the first Black student to be admitted to Virginia Tech, has been named the Class of 2023 class ring namesake, and Bevlee Watford, associate dean for equity and engagement, has been named class sponsor.

InclusiveVT Excellence Scholarship Fund

During this year’s reunion we were also able to raise awareness and support for the InclusiveVT Excellence Scholarship Fund, which helps Hokies from underrepresented and underserved backgrounds.
