On Nov. 20, this webinar was hosted by Virginia Tech's Office of Planned Giving and led by financial planner Jim Pearman ’70.

The event provided an overview of financial and non-financial issues to be considered when entering the retirement phase of life.

Jim Pearman co-founded Partners in Financial Planning LLC in 2009 and has more than 50 years of experience in the financial services industry. He has authored the book “Financial Planning for the Older Client,” and has been quoted on financial planning topics in national and regional publications

Pearman is active with National Association of Personal Financial Advisors (NAPFA) and the NAPFA Consumer Education Foundation (NCEF). He has served as an industry expert for the North American Securities Administrators Association (NASAA) Exams Advisory Project Group that develops and reviews questions for the Series 63, 65 and 66 securities exams. An alumnus who earned his bachelor’s in accounting, Pearman also volunteers with numerous nonprofit organizations, including serving on the Investment Committee of the Virginia Tech Foundation Board of Directors.
