The only university-level institute at Virginia Tech dedicated to biomedical research, the Fralin Biomedical Research Institute trains the next generation of leading biomedical scientists while also facilitating discovery-based medical education. Slated to open this fall in the Roanoke Innovation Corridor, this state-of-the-art facility will be home to roughly 25 new teams of Virginia Tech biomedical scientists specializing in cardiovascular research, obesity and metabolism, body-device interfaces, cancer, and more.
