First State Chapter Student Scholarship

Dear Future Hokie,

As a First State Chapter member, I am writing to tell you about one of the best things that ever happened to me: Virginia Tech. Another 1,200+ Tech alumni are living or working in the Delaware area as well. Because we believe that the education we received at Virginia Tech is second to none, we want to encourage you to attend Virginia’s best state university.

As scholarship chair of the First State Alumni Chapter, I would like to inform you that our chapter will award two $2,000 scholarships to worthy high school seniors from Delaware, Chester County in Pennsylvania, Cecil County in Maryland, or Salem County in New Jersey who attend Virginia Tech in the fall of 2023. Each scholarship awarded would be a one-time scholarship paid with two equal payments during the recipient’s first year at Virginia Tech.

If you wish to apply, please complete the online application by Jan. 1. The criteria for selecting the scholarship award winner include academic achievement, participation, and leadership in school activities and community support. We plan to announce our selection by June 15.
