Jake Lutz
Jacob A. (Jake) Lutz III graduated in 1978 with a bachelor's degree (with distinction) in finance from the Pamplin College of Business. He then went on to the College of William and Mary, where he graduated with a Juris Doctorate in 1981. Lutz retired from Troutman Pepper in 2021 after more than 40 years in practice as a banking, corporate, and securities attorney. In addition to serving on the Virginia Tech Board of Visitors for two terms (from 2000 to 2008) and as rector (from 2006 to 2008), Lutz served on the Board of Directors for the Virginia Tech Foundation, was chair of the Virginia Bioinformatics Institute Policy Advisory Board, and was a member of the Pamplin Advisory Council including serving as president and cabinet chair. He has also participated in the Hokies for Higher Education initiative.
