Event Cancellations Policy
Event cancellation by host
The Virginia Tech Alumni Association (VTAA) reserves the right to cancel an event due to circumstances that would make the event non-viable. Examples of such circumstances would include, but are not limited to, inclement weather and low event enrollment. If VTAA cancels an event, registrants will be offered a full refund. If an event is postponed, registrants will have the option of receiving a full refund or transferring registration to the same event at the future date. The gift portion of event registration is non-refundable. Individual hotel cancellation policies still apply.
Event registration cancellation by participant
Unless stated differently on registration materials, the deadline to receive a refund for your registration is two weeks (14 days) before the event. Cancellations received after the stated deadline will not be eligible for a refund. Cancellations will be accepted via phone or e-mail, but must be received by the stated deadline. All refund requests must be made by the attendee or credit card holder. Refund requests must include the name of the attendee. Refunds will be credited back to the original credit card used for payment. The gift portion of event registration is non-refundable. Individual hotel cancellation policies still apply.
Athletic and performance tickets associated with events
If you cancel your event registration more than two weeks (14 days) out, your accompanying request for athletic or performance tickets will be cancelled and refunded. Athletic and performance tickets associated with registrations cancelled less than two weeks (14 days out) will be cancelled, but refunds will not be offered.
