D.C. Metro Area Chapter Student Scholarship

Congratulations! You have been accepted to one of the finest universities in the nation. Hokie alumni around the world would all agree . . . some of the best memories in their lives came from their time in Blacksburg. In addition, a degree from Virginia Tech is highly respected by employers and the top graduate programs across the country.

The D.C. Metro Area Chapter of the Virginia Tech Alumni Association invites you to apply for one of several merit-based scholarships that will be awarded to incoming students from high schools in the D.C. Metro Area who are heading to Blacksburg in the fall. Students from the following cities and counties will be eligible to apply: Fairfax County, Arlington County, Montgomery County, Falls Church, Alexandria, and Washington, D.C.

Although the scholarship amounts have yet to be set for this year, the average scholarship amount has been between $2,000–$4,000 and are paid in the form of a credit to the scholarship recipient’s student account in two equal installments before both the fall and spring semesters of their first year. Winners will also be published on our website. We encourage you to complete an application and submit it to our Scholarship Committee for consideration.  

All completed scholarship applications must be received by Jan. 1. The scholarship award presentation will be this summer, with the exact date to be determined.

The minimum requirements for the scholarship are:

• 3.75 G.P.A. or higher
