Virginia Tech Alumni Association chapters in more than two dozen locations will host Student Send-offs to welcome the Class of 2022. 

The parties, held throughout the summer, connect new students and their parents, with area alums. Find a party in your area and welcome the newest members of Hokie Nation. The chapters listed below are holding send-offs.

  • Join the Roanoke Hokies on Saturday, June 30, for a cookout and summer outdoor fun as we celebrate our area freshmen that are headed off to Virginia Tech for the fall semester. This year we will be holding the event at the Mill Mountain Park picnic shelter, with the festivities kicking off at noon. Look for the orange and maroon balloons!
  • At the picnic we will announce the recipient of our 2018-2019 Roanoke Alumni Scholarship! This event is free for incoming first year students, but we ask that families of incoming students and alumni make a contribution of $3 per individual to help cover the cost of food.
