Dear Alumni,

This fall, November 20-21, 2009, we are celebrating the 25th anniversary of the Order of the Gavel, a Virginia Tech leadership honorary founded by former Vice President for Student Affairs Dr. Sandra Sullivan in 1984. We will honor the charter members of the Order on November 20, 2009. This celebration coincides with Tech’s Class of 1984 25th Anniversary Reunion. 

gavelNot only will we honor the charter members and subsequent Order of the Gavel members, but we also invite all alumni student leaders to attend who held major leadership positions prior to 1984. This is an opportunity to recognize your contributions as a student leader and to bring together those who share the common bond of serving Virginia Tech as student leaders.

Please reserve November 20 - 21, 2009 on your calendars and register to join us for the 25th anniversary celebration. There is no charge. We will have a short program and reception at 5 p.m. in the Holtzman Alumni Center Gallery and Dr. Sandra Sullivan will be featured as the speaker. On Saturday morning we will have coffee and continental breakfast in the Cardinal Room in Squires Student Center, where the Order of the Gavel composites are displayed. You will enjoy seeing fellow student leaders at this special anniversary.
