For over thirty-seven years, the Highty-Tighty Alumni have been participating in Virginia Tech’s Homecoming weekend by marching in the downtown parade and at the football pre-game show, joining the present Highty-Tighties on the field. It’s a great time for all who have lived the Highty-Tighty experience to come together, not only to enjoy the opportunity to march again as a band, but to also reflect on what it means to be a Highty-Tighty.
In addition to the parade and game performances, there is the annual gathering to enjoy a meal together. This year we are trying something different, and will gather for a tailgate meal outdoors under tents that will be set up close by to Lane Stadium. There will be tables and chairs for comfort, along with a delicious menu served, so please join as we come back together to again enjoy the camaraderie of our fellow HT's. We are also having an "alumni party" Friday evening after band practice. So if you are in town by that time, please plan to stop in and say hello to old friends!
It doesn't matter if your musical skills have diminished, or even if you can't play your instrument any longer. All Highty-Tighty alumni are enthusiastically invited to come join us for all reunion events. We have alumni from all classes, dating back to the early 1940s who march and reunite with us each year. Our Highty-Tighty Reunion is a great time to meet old friends and support the organization that has meant so much to us since our days on campus.
All times are tentative. Exact times will be posted once game time is announced in September 2013.
