1978 Ring Dance

Dear Classmates:

It doesn’t seem possible that it has been 30 years since the Bee Gees ruled the airwaves, the Love Boat and the Incredible Hulk debuted on TV, since Grease, Saturday Night Fever and Close Encounters of the Third Kind were on the big screen, and we received our degrees from Virginia Tech. Plan to come back to campus the weekend of November 28 - 30, 2008 (Thanksgiving weekend) to see old friends, reminisce, and watch our beloved Hokies take on the UVA Wahoos in Lane Stadium.

The Alumni Association is excited to have our reunion in the new Holtzman Alumni Center and the Inn at Virginia Tech and Skelton Conference Center. They have organized a festive weekend of activities, including a ’70s Tribute Reception on Friday evening (feel free to break out your old John Travolta suit, bell bottoms, platform shoes or just dress in your choice of comfortable clothes) and a Hokie brunch on Saturday before the game. The success of our reunion will depend on our ability to reconnect with old friends, so contact your classmates and encourage them to join you for this special weekend. Get back in touch with room and hall mates, and fellow members of your clubs, fraternities, and sororities.

Lodging rooms and football tickets have been reserved especially for our class, but we are limited to one per paid registrant (up to 4 total). If you or any of your guests have special needs while you are visiting us (i.e., special diet, mobility accommodations, etc.) or would like help locating classmates, please contact Cathy Lally at 540/231-6385 or VaTechAlumni@vt.edu.
