Mission of multicultural alumni programs

The mission of multicultural alumni programs is to increase involvement and participation of individuals from multicultural constituencies in alumni affairs and university activities.

WHERE DO YOU FIT IN
All Virginia Tech graduates are part of the Virginia Tech Alumni Association.  The question is: Are you active?  The goal of every Virginia Tech alumni is lifelong service - Ut Prosim: That I May Serve.

YOU ARE VALUED
Multicultural Alumni are a valuable resource to Virginia Tech.  The University is committed to building a more diverse and inclusive learning environment to include faculty, students, staff, and alumni (http://www.vt.edu/diversity). Your time and knowledge is needed as we embark upon a journey that will change the lives of many students.  As alumni you have the opportunity to contribute to a student’s growth and success.  It is multicultural alumni that have the challenge and fulfillment of relating to today’s prospective and current multicultural students.  Please make a difference today by getting involved.

The benefit to you is the opportunity to connect back to Virginia Tech right where you live now.  Alumni chapters are the communications link between alumni and the university.  As an active alum in a chapter you can effect change by participating in community service events that support Virginia Tech’s mission to lifelong service; and helping raise money for scholarships that help many students pay for college expenses. 

Get involved with prospective and current multicultural students

Here is how...

• Yield Events
  Are events designed for multicultural students who have been admitted to Virginia Tech.  The yield event will provide students and parents with a historical perspective on student life at VT.  Representatives from VT will be at the event to provide guidance about the multicultural experience at Virginia Tech.

• Finding my Path Speakers Series
  This lecture series of dialogues discusses life lessons and the journey to finding your right career path. If you have questions and want a list of speakers, please contact Ray Williams.
• Attend Multicultural Programs and Events on campus
