Holtzman Photo Tour

Photos Descriptions
Holtzman Alumni Center
Named for William Holtzman, a long-time supporter of university initiatives, including the Corps of Cadets, the Virginia Tech Athletic Fund, and the Virginia Center for Civil War Studies.
Alumni Fountain (Donated by the Class of '52)
The fountain in the Alumni Center Plaza has three tiers, is clad in Hokie Stone and features the university’s pylon logo.
Alumni Gateway (Donated by the Class of '52)
From the Alumni Center Plaza, you can also see the Alumni Gateway that marks the main entrance to the Holtzman Alumni Center. This is reminiscent of the gateway that stood at the original entrance to the campus on what is now Main Street, in the early 20th century.
Alumni Terrace
The engraved stones on the terrace recognize individuals who helped fund the construction of the Holtzman Alumni Center. Gifts supporting the Center are still being accepted and there is room for additional pavers to acknowledge those gifts.
Grand Hall
The Grand Hall with its living room style seating and warm atmosphere serves as a true home for alumni when visiting the campus, and we are excited to hear "meet me at the Alumni Center" become a common phrase.
Alumni Center Museum
Our university dates to the early 1870s and our Alumni Association was founded in 1875. This space is dedicated to celebrating the history of Virginia Tech and the accomplishments of our alumni.
Alumni Center Gallery (Donated by the Class of '53)
The walls of this mezzanine features rotating art exhibits by local and alumni artists. The two primary rooms off the Gallery level are the Alumni Library and Alumni Board Room.
Alumni Library (Donated by the Class of '54)
The Library will continue to accumulate works by Virginia Tech writers. Two small meeting rooms and an Internet room that alumni may use when you
come to campus
Alumni Board Room
The Alumni Board Room is large enough to accommodate the Alumni Association Board of Directors which has 30 members. You notice that the table is curved so that everyone can be seen. Wireless mics are used to amplify those participating in a meeting. This room is also used for reunion committee meetings and college and departmental advisory board meetings. The photographs on the walls are of former presidents of the Alumni Association.
Alumni Association Offices
The Virginia Tech Alumni Association staff offices occupy the third floor of Holtzman.
