In the spirit of Ut Prosim (That I May Serve), the Chattanooga Chapter of the Virginia Tech Alumni Association is adopting a local highway as part of Tennessee's Adopt-A-Highway program. We are adopting a section of Highway 58 designated by the mile markers 9-11, between Island Cove Marina and Central High School. We need everyone to go to the website below and familiarize yourself with some basic safety precautions, then sign the form that you watched the video. We are required to perform 4 pick-up events throughout the course of one year of the contract. Before scheduling our 1st pick-up event, release forms need to be on file for any volunteers participating in litter pick-up.
A link to the Volunteer Safety Video is located at http://www.tdot.state.tn.us/environment/beautification/adopt-a-highway.htm and must be watched prior to signing the release form. Children 12 and older may participate also as long as their parent/guardian watches the safety video and signs the release form with the child. Anyone who may be interested in volunteering for litter pick-up at any time, please watch the video and sign and return the release form to Anne Harvey by e-mail at littleanne77@comcast.net or by mail at 7255 Lee Highway Apartment 812, Chattanooga TN 37421. Our year starts this week!
