Generate VT PID
To get your Virginia Tech PID you will need to have your Virginia Tech ID number. This 9 digit number beginning with a "90" has replaced your Social Security number as a unique identifier for your Virginia Tech records. If you do not know your Virginia Tech ID number, please contact the Alumni Association at 540/231-6285.
In just a few steps you can get started using features exclusively for Virginia Tech Alumni.
1) Find yourself
Before giving you a VT PID (Personal IDentifier), we need to verify
you are a Virginia Tech alumna(e). You'll be asked specific information about yourself.
2) Choose a VT
PID
You'll be offered a selection of available VT PIDs. Alternatively, you
may choose to make up your own VT PID. Your VT PID is your username for personal
online services.
3) Choose your
password
Please keep your password secure. If you lose/forget your password, please
contact 4-Help at 540/231-4357.
4) Update your
alumni profile
This step is not required, but while you're here, why not update the contact
information that the university has for you?
Your VT PID will be activated within the next 48 hours, at which point you can login and start enjoying the benefits of this new gateway to Virginia Tech.
