Student Recruitment and Admissions

MISSION of the Alumni Admissions Program

The Alumni Admissions Program (AAP) recruitment effort is an ongoing one which reaches out to parents, high school guidance personnel and high school students who are interested in Virginia Tech.

AAP members work on behalf of the Admissions Office and Virginia Tech as public relations and resource liaisons to these interested parties, helping to personalize the admissions process and encourage potential university applicants.

Contact with promising students can be generated by attending college night programs, establishing rapport with local high school guidance personnel, and casual or informal associations. The Admissions Office will help you launch many of these new relationships, while you may initiate some on your own.

An outline of some of your suggested responsibilities is included in the AAP Training Manual mailed to every chapter in early fall.
