    Career and Professional Development for Alumni
    Holtzman Alumni Center Assembly Hall, first floor
    Learn how to maximize your Virginia Tech degree. Black Alumni who have excelled to the top of their career fields will share strategies and conduct interactive workshops. The sessions are black alumni reuniondesigned for entry to senior level professionals.

Session I: 
How to Kick Start your Career
Presented by: Christina Brogdon '93
Designed for entry to mid level employees

Topics include salary negotiation, how to build professional networks, and how to transition into a new field. This session will help you define your professional goals and planning for success. 

Session II:       
Business Empowerment Workshop
Presented by: Bob Holloman '86

Topics include, establishing a legacy of wealth, building and maintaining wealth through any economic climate, entrepreneurial: how to start your own business and where to start, and the power of home ownership

Alumni Career Exhibit

Commonwealth Ballroom Squires Student Center
A resource fair designed for students and alumni seeking career advice. Alumni will be present to represent their companies and career fields. Take this opportunity to give back, mentor, and network. SIGN UP TO PARTICIPATE HERE

    Alumni Networking Exchange (Reception food provided for full registration)
    Commonwealth Ballroom in Squires Student Center
    Start the weekend off right! Meet up with your friends and former classmates at this welcome event. Don’t forget to bring your business card for our resource book.

This historical stepshow will showcase our Black Fraternities and Sororities and honor the alumni who pledged before and paved the way. Come out and see how we mix the old with the new!

    Keynote address by: Dr. Linda Edmonds Turner '70, '76, '79

    Location - The Inn at Virginia Tech

Were you apart of a tight-knit group during your time here at Tech? Groups are encouraged to come back and reunite with the people who made your time here memorable.

    A night to celebrate the achievements of Virginia Tech Black alumni.

    Dress code: dressy casual
    Examples: dressed-up casual look for men include trousers and sport coat. For women dressy pants, black dress, or cocktail attire is appropriate.

    A Day of Celebration (Farewell Program)
    The Gospel Experience, the Enlighten Gospel Choir, alumni ministers, and evangelists will lead us in a Sunday morning celebration and memorial service.
